Specialist Mackenzie Striker
Born 20 April, 2003, Plant City, Florida
U.S. Army Specialist Mackenzie Striker enlisted into the United States Army July of 2021.
In October 2022, Striker arrived at Fort Riley, her first duty station, and is currently serving as a public affairs specialist with the 19th Public Affairs Detachment, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, Division Artillery, 1st Infantry Division.
She has provided video, photography, social media and written coverage of several events throughout Fort Riley and nearby areas in Kansas..
She attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina,and graduated September 23 of the same year. Striker then went to Advanced Individual Training at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, where she worked towards her qualifications for the job of a public affairs mass communication specialist. While in AIT she volunteered her time and earned two Certificate of Achievements. She graduated her training in May of 2022 and awaited her orders.
Prior to joining Striker participated in her high school's Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program throughout her highschool career. She rose up in the ranks throughout the years and gained the rank of captain her junior year, as she acted as a company commander. Her senior year she gained the position of the S-6 which is a communications officer, where she controlled the program’s social media, weekly newsletter and more.
One of her short term goals is to gain the rank of Specialist in the Army, she works hard every day and hopes to set an example to anyone around her. Striker also plans to start her college courses to work towards being a Nurse Practitioner.
Her long Term goals consist of becoming a Non Commissioned Officer, and to get better at her craft. As of right now she is unsure if she wants to reenlist but she still has a few years to figure that out.
