He has spent half of that time on active duty and has deployed three times, including two tours in Iraq and his current deployment to Afghanistan. Sgt. Shane Smith has accumulated more than seven years of time driving trucks in the Army and he too has deployed three times, two to Iraq and now to Afghanistan.
