Healthy families are the foundation of mission readiness. That's why IACH proudly hosts the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program – a Riley County resource that provides nutrition support, breastfeeding assistance, and health education to military families who need it most.
For many service members and their families, the WIC program represents an untapped opportunity. Despite serving nearly 1,400 beneficiaries at Fort Riley, many more could benefit.
A common misconception is that military families earn "too much" to qualify.
“WIC does not include BAH in income calculations,” said Kaylyn Speth, Riley County WIC Program Supervisor. “An E-6 with six years of service could qualify for a family of four.”
