    Soldiers from the 3rd Platoon 1st Infantry Company of the Montenegrin Armed Forces conduct cold weather training and tactical positioning in the mountains of Folldal, Norway on November 2, 2018 as part of Exercise TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2018. The training is part of a larger simulated battlefield exercise with multiple nations attacking and defending territories throughout the Oppdal region of
    Norway.

    Interview provided by Lieutenant Nikola Popovič, Commander of the 3rd Platoon 1st Infantry Company of the Montenegrin Armed Forces. Popovic: “Because we are a new NATO member, a new ally, we are here to prepare ourselves for winter conditions because this is an exercise in extreme
    winter conditions. To show we are trustworthy, now allies, and we are here to support our NATO members.”

    “Conditions are well. As you can see there is much snow and its temperature on the very low degrees. So we are preparing ourselves for defending and attacking from town to town and trying to cooperate with new infantries, to cooperate with new countries in NATO.”

    “Its quite a bit different between our tactics and our movements, our equipment. So we are trying to make better conditions to work like when to use the same equipment, to use the same tactics for finishing the job.”

    “Because we are new allies, we have more routes to help each other country that we are sent to. We are in Afghanistan and trying to protect the peace over there. After that we will be in Latvia and sent where we need, where NATO needs us.”
