Yokota Air Base and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force arrive on Andersen Air Force Base for the 69th annual Operation Christmas Drop on December 2, 2020.
OCD is the world's longest running airdrop mission, and for the fifth year in a row, our allies will train alongside us in low-cost low-altitude bundle drops which will deliver food, tools and clothing to remote islands in the South-Eastern Pacific region.
The U.S. Air Force and its allies are taking deliberate steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 by following CDC COVID-19 guidelines and implementing approved sanitation measures for all donations. Socially-distanced teams wearing recommended protective gear on shift work will prepare the donations in bundles which will be disinfected prior to delivery.
