A Missouri National Guard helicopter pilot at Camp Arifjan serves as a host for KY3 TV, Springfield, MO, during a remote broadcast of the Sunshine Run, held in both locations. More than 400 people ran in Kuwait, while 10,000 participated in Springfield in the Sunshine Run, which supports charitable causes back in Missouri. Several people talk with the event anchor in Missouri before the run: the commander of 1107th AVCRAD, a helicopter repair unit from the Missouri National Guard; a couple Soldiers who organized the run at Camp Arifjan; several more run participants who get to talk with family back in Springfield. The host talks frequently with the anchor in Missouri about the weather, safety, communicating back home through email, living conditions at Camp Arifjan. Wide pan of the group, and they stand at attention for the national anthem. A countdown from Missouri, then the run in Kuwait starts simultaneously with the run in Springfield.
