1-27 “Wolfhounds” from “COLDSTEEL” Company, 1-27 Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team assault the breach created by Sappers from the 65th Brigade Engineer Battalion “Bayonets” as part of training conducted during Balikatan 23. During this training, soldiers conducted a “Cold Hit,” assaulting the objective sight unseen, to closely replicate combat conditions in a training environment.
Balikatan, Tagalog for “shoulder-to-shoulder,” is an annual bilateral exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military.
