    50th Public Affairs Detachment

    Soldiers assigned to the 497th Multi-Role Bridge Company (MRBC), 92nd Engineer Battalion, and 3rd Battalion,69th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, maneuver an M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tank across an Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB) during a wet gap crossing exercise at Fort Stewart, Georgia, Sept. 20, 2023. A wet gap crossing uses Army bridging and obstacles equipment to allow military vehicles, personnel and supplies to cross a body of water. This training event marks the first time an M1A2 SEPv3 Abrams tank crossed a bridged obstacle on Fort Stewart. The 497th MRBC train for real-world scenarios they might encounter in large scale combat operations with a focus on assured mobility in a variety of challenging conditions. (U.S. Army video by Spc.
