Steelworker 3rd Class Kyle B. Mellon, from Talladega, Ala., assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11, chisels away the remaining slag to replace the collars an axle of an MTVR MK31. NMCB-11 is home-ported in Gulfport, Miss. and is currently deployed to multiple locations in support of AFRICOM, EUCOM, CENTCOM, and PACOM. NMCB-11's Det. Horn of Africa (HOA) is a Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) HOA unit whose mission includes stabilizing and strengthening security in East Africa through military-to-military engagements with partner nations.
