A squad of Marines secures the perimeter while another squad egresses from an Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter during joint helicopter insertion training at the Rodriguez Live-Fire Complex Aug. 19 as part of the Korean Marine Exchange Program 13-8. Throughout KMEP 13-8, Republic of Korea Marines, as well as U.S. Marines, sailors and soldiers conducted live-fire training, helicopter operations, and military operations on urban terrain training, as well as cultural exchanges and tours of the South Korean countryside. The Marines are with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The CH-47 and its crew are with 3rd General Aviation Support Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division.
