U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Collins, a mortarman assigned to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion of the 8th Marines (1/8) holds security while on patrol through the Infantry Platoon Battle Course located at Fort Pickett, V. A., Aug. 26, 2013. The Marines of 1/8 were supporting students attending the Infantry Unit Leaders Course (IULC), Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry-East (SOI-E). IULC is a course designed for Marine infantry staff non commissioned officers that prepares them for the rigors of being a platoon sergeant in an infantry platoon.
