Pat Fairfax, father of 1-118th Field Artillery Battalion's executive officer, Maj. Joseph Fairfax, visits the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team's multi-weapon live-fire exercise to see what his son has been describing to him in stories for years. "I was so happy he invited me to come see this," says Pat Fairfax. "He has come home for years telling us stories of what he does, and to come out and be able to see for myself what he's been talking about all this time is really awesome." Talking with Sgt. Kenneth Casey, infantryman in Alpha Company, 1-121st Infantry Battalion, about the riffles used on the firing line during the combined arms live-fire exercise, Pat got some perspective of what all the soldiers his son leads can do.
