Georgia Army National Guardsman Staff Sgt. Clifford McDaniel, Jr., with Alpha Company, 48th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, looks right while making his way through a field of high grass during eXportable Combat Training Capabilities (XCTC) training at Fort Stewart. During the final days of XCTC training guardsmen participated in a four-day war scenario where they used a Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System, or MILES gear, which uses lasers and blank cartridges to simulate actual battle.
