Nigerian Army Lt. Col. Wosiu Bakare addresses Armed Forces of Liberia soldiers before giving command of the Logistics Command to AFL Capt. Roland Murphy. As part of the Economic Community of West African States, Bakare has commanded LOGCOM for more than a year and a half. Murphy took command from Bakare in a ceremony at Edward Binyah Kesselly Barracks, Sept. 17, 2013. In addition to ECOWAS members, U.S. service members deployed with Operation ONWARD LIBERTY are providing mentorship to the AFL to produce a capable, respected force able to protect Liberian interests in the West African region. In addition, OOL is developing the leadership capabilities of the officers and noncommissioned officers to maintain a professional and credible military force with a reputation as a “force for good” among the Liberian people.
