In the middle of a looming governmental shutdown, troops assigned to the 1st Mission Support Command (1st MSC), the largest federal U.S. Army command in the Caribbean, departed through the Luis Muñoz Marin International Airport toward a mobilization station in the continental states Sept. 27, before traveling to Afghanistan.
