A Marine Corps rifle platoon from the United States Marine Corps Security Forces Battalion Bangor, Wash., performs a three-volley salute to honor Signalman 1st Class Douglas A. Munro during a memorial ceremony for him at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Cle Elum, Wash., Sept. 27, 2013. The ceremony marked the 71st anniversary of Munro's death by enemy fire on the beaches of Guadalcanal where he served as a signalman in the Coast Guard during World War II.
