Members of the Philippine Air Force observe two F/A-18C Hornets as they conduct a “show of force” mission during close air support training Sept. 29 at Crow Valley, Republic of the Philippines in support of Amphibious Landing Exercise 2014. Bilateral training during PHIBLEX 14 is focused on enhancing interoperability and the readiness of forces. The day of training qualified the participating PAF members as forward air controllers. The training itself left both parties confident in each other’s abilities. The PAF members are with 710 Special Operations Wing. U.S. Marines and sailors from the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade and III Marine Expeditionary Force train with their Philippine counterparts during PHIBLEX 14.
