Jordan Roehl, an engineer with Naval Surface Warfare Center based in Crane, Ind., aims an SA-18 infrared seeker at aircraft in a Weapons and Tactics Instructor course missile strike simulation at the Barry Goldwater Air Force Range, Ariz., on Oct. 3. The seeker was used to set off the direct infrared countermeasure system inside of the aircraft and gives students a more intensive simulation.
