The Fort Bragg Air Assault School officially kicked off its first class with “Day Zero”, the most physically demanding day before the actual school, Sept. 19. Beginning at 5 a.m., the day started with physical training, a two-mile run and the Air Assault obstacle course. Out of the 76 potential candidates who signed up for the school, only 64 remained to being accepted into the school. Air Assault School is a 10-day course that consists of three phases and a 12-mile foot march that must be completed before graduation. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Paul A. Holston/XVIII Abn. Corps PAO)
