Students from Class 13-01 of the Fort Bragg Air Assault School continue with their 10-day course with the second phase, Sept. 23 through 25. In phase two, students are introduced into sling load operations, which involves hands-on training on preparation, inspection and rigging. Instructors review and discuss six stations that students would be expected to identify any deficiencies, which include the M1097 HMMWV, cargo net, M149A2 water trailer, A-22 cargo bag, three 500 gallon fuel bivets, and 2 M1097 HMMWV in the shotgun/side by side configuration. Students will also conduct an actual hook-up of a load underneath an aircraft. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Paul A. Holston/XVIII Abn. Corps PAO)
