Franklin Jacobs, the command sergeant major, 212th Fires Brigade, 1st Armored Division, administers the Oath of the United States Army Noncommissioned Officer to six newly promoted sergeants during the 212th Fires Brigade NCO Induction Ceremony, Oct. 8, 2013 at Fort Bliss, Texas. The NCO Induction Ceremony is an Army tradition that dates back to the birth of the U.S Army. The ceremony symbolizes a change of responsibility; it develops and maintains unit pride, builds esprit de corps and preserves tradition.
