Marines with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, provide security during a noncombatant evacuation operation training exercise here, Oct. 18, 2013. The United States Military Joint Publication 3-68 states NEOs are conducted to assist the Department of State in evacuating noncombatants, nonessential military personnel, selected host-nation citizens and third country nationals whose lives are in danger from locations in a host foreign nation to an appropriate safe haven or the United States. The Bravo Co. Marines and corpsmen treated ill or injured role-players during the exercise and also provided food and water.
