The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55), left, the Spanish navy frigate Alvaro de Bazen (F101), and the German navy frigate FGS Sachsen (F 219) are moored at Aksaz Naval Base. The ships are preparing for the two-week Dogu Akdeniz Exercise. Dogu Akdeniz is hosted by Commander, Turkish Fleet to support interoperability efforts. Stout is on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operation.
