U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Daniel Jakab crawls during the “Maneuver Under Fire” portion of the Marine Corps combat fitness test at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies here Nov. 27. Jakab and another Marine Corps major passed the test, conducted in below-freezing temperatures and in about six inches of snow. The “maneuver under fire” portion of the test is the third leg of the Marines’ combat fitness test, and includes sprinting, crawling, casualty drag, fireman’s carry, carrying two 30-pound ammunition cans for 75 yards, a simulated grenade toss and a 75-yard sprint with two ammo cans to the finish.
