Coast Guard Auxiliarist Richard Turrin instructs Dakar marine terminal firefighters on damage control techniques on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Dallas mess decks, July 25, 2008. Turrin is temporarily deployed aboard Dallas and serves as a French translator. Dallas is deployed to the region under the direction of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet, in support of Africa Partnership Station. APS is an initiative aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and other collaborative activities in order to improve global maritime safety and security.
