    U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Dallas in Senegal

    Firefighters from the Dakar marine terminal's fire department practice plugging a hole during damage control training held on a pier, July 26, 2008. The firefighters also practiced hose handling, pipe patching and shoring techniques aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Dallas during the cutter's visit to the port. Dallas is deployed to the region under the direction of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Commander, U.S. Sixth Fleet, in support of Africa Partnership Station. APS is an initiative aimed at strengthening global maritime partnerships through training and other collaborative activities in order to improve global maritime safety and security.
