A soldier from 1st Platoon "Blood Angels," D Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat team, 1st Cavalry Division, throws a smoke grenade into a clearing to mark the landing site for a helicopter, which will simulate evacuating the injured soldier.
