Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Miyako Schanely, deputy commander of 412th Theater Engineer Command, thanks her Family and friends following a Reaffirmation of Oath ceremony held today. The Fort Drum resident, who works for the State University of New York in a civilian capacity, is the first female Japanese-American and the first female Engineer in the Army Reserve and second in the Army to be promoted to General Officer.
