Lt.j.g Gerald Sellars stands watch as the ballistic missile defense officer in the combat information center aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55). The exercise was part of Relentless Shield, which also included fellow destroyer USS Ramage (DDG 61) and the Israel Defense Forces, all practicing a variety of ballistic missile defense scenarios to promote operational cooperation. Stout and Ramage, both homeported in Norfolk, Va., are on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operation.
