Cmdr. Robert Alpigini, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55), right, and Weapons Officer Lt. Brett Boothe, monitor missile activity in the combat information center. The exercise was part of Relentless Shield, which also included fellow destroyer USS Ramage (DDG 61) and the Israel Defense Forces, all practicing a variety of ballistic missile defense scenarios to promote operational cooperation. Stout and Ramage, both homeported in Norfolk, Va., are on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operation.
