Marines with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, perform a weapons count as part of an accountability formation during a CONUS Based Alert Force drill Jan. 13, 2013. The drill was to assess the company’s readiness to deploy quickly as the II MEF COUNS Based Alert Force. “The exercise trains our ability to get Marines deployed quickly in response to a crisis anywhere in the world,” said 1st Lt. Jason Hotalen, the battalion actions officer.
