Drill instructor students respond to orders Jan. 27, 2014, during a physical training session at Drill Instructor School on Parris Island, S.C. These Marines represent the top 10 percent of the Marine Corps and are held to its highest standards. Having served a minimum of four years in the Corps and earned the rank of sergeant, these Marines are now preparing to transform young men and women into their predecessors. The Drill Instructor School on Parris Island trains all future drill instructors in an intensive 11-week course.
