U.S. Army 1st Lt. Richard Payne performs a radio check Feb. 14 at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Special Warfare School near Lop Buri, Kingdom of Thailand. Payne is part of a group of advance party paratroopers with the Spartan Brigade who are in support of Exercise Cobra Gold 2014. For their part in CG14, the 4-25th is scheduled to drop nearly 400 of their paratroopers into Thailand to rehearse seizing an airfield for follow-on training. CG14 is a multinational exercise designed to enhance interoperability among partner nations that share common interests in peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
