Col. Jonathan D. Covington checks the instruments of his C-20 aircraft March 10 at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma following his final flight before retiring from the Marine Corps after more than 30 years of honorable service. The final flight, a tradition for Marine aviators, serves as a sentimental farewell for retiring pilots. Covington was the deputy commander of Marine Corps Installations Pacific.
