This year marks the 72nd Seabee and 147th CEC anniversary. Naval tradition dictates the oldest sailor in attendance pass on a piece of cake to the youngest, symbolizing the passing of youth and vitality. Weireter is a construction electrician with Naval Mobile Construction Command 1,which is based out of Gulfport, Miss. and has 13 global details deployed throughout the U.S. and Asia-Pacific area of operations. Fischer is the command master chief of NMCB-1.
