Petty Officer 2nd Class Jason Mendez climbs a ladder on the 0-9 level to work aloft on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. Working aloft is hazardous, and all Sailors are required to wear a safety harness. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
