Master Chief Petty Officer Ronald Eusebio, right, and Petty Officer 1st Class Genesisjames Dizon cut a cake during the Independent Duty Corpsman Association 70th birthday celebration March 27 at the Ocean Breeze on Camp Foster. The cake cutting is similar to the Marine Corps birthday tradition, with the most experienced member passing the first piece of cake to the least experienced, symbolizing the passing of knowledge and wisdom. The mission of the IDCA is to strengthen the skills and knowledge of all IDCs through the sustainment of superior health care delivery in support of mission accomplishment. Eusebio is the senior IDC on Okinawa and the senior enlisted leader of the Directorate for Branch Clinics, U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa. Dizon is the junior IDC on Okinawa and with 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
