Vandentop, I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group company gunnery sergeant, and I MHG's Marine Corps Martial Arts Program martial arts instructor course chief instructor, gives a brief period of instruction to his class just prior to turning the class over to his guest instructor, Sgt. Maj. Larock W. Benford, the 47-year-old I MEF Ground Combat Element sergeant major, Oct. 2, 2008. Vandentop headed the course, which graduated, Oct. 3, 2008, that made MCMAP history by hosting 95 newly graduated MCMAP martial arts instructors.
