An aviation boatswain's mate (handling) directs an aircraft onto catapult two during flight operations on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. As flight operations move into night, aircraft handlers require the use of signaling wands to direct aircraft traffic. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
