Sergeant Xin Huynh, squad leader, Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, and a native of Stockton, Calif., was meritoriously promoted to the rank of staff sergeant aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 2, 2014. Huynh was selected out of approximately 20,000 Marines for the promotion. He achieved the rank by going above and beyond his peers in job performance, education and physical fitness. He also spends many of his weekends volunteering to help the homeless, as well as being a mentor for young adults who are searching for a career path.
