The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville steams through the Gulf of Oman in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Cruisers are multi-mission, anti-air warfare, anti-submarine warfare, long-range strike and anti-surface warfare combatants capable of supporting carrier and expeditionary strike groups. The Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
