Petty Officer 3rd Class George Perez from El Paso, Texas, mans a twin .50 caliber machine gun on board the Al Basra oil terminal (ABOT) from "Papa 5" lookout post. Perez is attached to Mobile Security Detachment 31, forward deployed from San Diego and charged with the security of the ABOT and Khawr Al Amaya (KAAOT) oil terminals.
