Col. Lanita Kuhn, commander of the Georgia Army National Guard’s 265th Support Group (Regional), 78th Troop Command, welcomed her incoming senior enlisted adviser Saturday morning during the unit’s change of responsibility ceremony in Metter, Ga. Command Sgts. Maj. Lynward A. Hall (far right) and Joe A. Jimmerson have the expertise and commitment to excellence that has driven the combat-proven unit to be the first in the Georgia National Guard’s history to be awarded a Navy Presidential Unit Citation. In her remarks, Kuhn, whose father is a retired command sergeant major, said greatness is perpetuated through purposeful service and mentoring. “Mentorship is not just from the top down,” Kuhn punctuated. “It is from those you trust to do the right thing, enlisted or officer.” The 265th SGR will travel to the state of South Dakota in support of their National Guard’s annual training operation "Golden Coyote" beginning May 31.
