Vittorio Roces, left, receives a hygiene pack from U.S. Maj. Jason Johnson May 5 during the medical supply turnover ceremony at Bigaa Health Center in Bigaa, Albay province, Philippines. The passing of the hygiene pack acted as a symbolic passing of all the medical supplies to the health center and local community. The donations were part of the humanitarian civil assistance programs being completed during Exercise Balikatan, an annual bilateral training exercise held between the Philippines and U.S. to strengthen the relationship between the longstanding allies. Roces is the acting mayor of Legazpi City, and Johnson is deputy commander for the Joint Civil Military Operations Task Force, U.S. armed forces. (Photo by U.S. Marine Lance Cpl.
