Warrant Officer Ziyad commands a Cessna 208B Caravan to start its engine at Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq, Nov. 26. Ziyad is a weapons specialist with the Iraqi air force 3rd Squadron being trained and, in time, certified by the 521st Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron. The 521st AEAS mission is to lay the foundational maintenance capabilities as well as provide pilot mission, intel, air traffic control and life support training for the Iraqi air force through their motto, "train, advise and assist."
