The 648th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade hosted the second annual Hydra Ball, at Columbus Iron Works Convention and Trade Center, on May 17. Sgt. Maj. Joseph Shirer, G3 Sergeant Major, fills his pitcher with grog during the punch bowl ceremony, a staple in military dining-in events. The sock and its contents represented the sand that deployed Soldiers have treaded upon.
