Spc. Logan R. Broome, a Dawsonville, Ga., native, and a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the 503rd Maintenance Company, 398th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade, works on a forklift that serves as a vital asset to the 297th Inland Cargo Transportation Company, 398th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 10th Sustainment Brigade. They are responsible for assisting in heavy lift operations around the airfield and must have their forklifts FMC at all times. Spc. Broome worked on the 10K for ten hours (2000 – 0600) to ensure the 297th mission did not stop. He and other 503rd Soldiers and non-commissioned officers helped to find the faulty transmission and installed a new one before sunrise. Spc. Broome takes great pride in his job and is truly an example of dedication and motivation to the mission, his peers, and the 503rd Maintenance Company. The 503rd Maintenance Company Soldiers are currently serving a 15-month tour of duty in Iraq in support of the Multi-National Division - Baghdad.
