Command Sgt. Maj. Brendan McIntyre, command sergeant major for the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, attached to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, presents a battalion coin to Spc. Derek Shafer, an infantryman from Decatur, Ill., assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Bn., 4th Inf. Regt., during an end of tour award ceremony, Dec. 13, at Forward Operating Base Falcon. McIntyre, a native of Amarillo, Texas, presented the Headquarters Soldiers end of tour awards to recognize their dedication and service during the 15-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 2nd "Warrior" Bn. is part of the 10th Mountain Division's 4th Brigade Combat Team, stationed at Fort Polk, La.
