A Marine is knocked down by his opponent May 23 at Camp Kinser during a pugil stick bout. The event was part of field meet organized to celebrate 3rd Marine Logistics Group’s 56th anniversary. Despite the rainy weather and muddy field, the day’s events included a pancake breakfast, 5-kilometer run, two multi-unit physical training sessions followed by unit competitions. The competitions pitted the most physically fit Marines within the respective battalions and regiments of 3rd MLG against each other in events such as pugil stick bouts, tug-of-war, Humvee pull, tire flip and a functional fitness relay. This year’s winning unit was Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd MLG, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Adam B. Miller/Released)
