Spc. Amanda Garrett, a truck driver from Bloomington, Ind., with the Army Reserve 3rd Battalion, 411th Regiment (Logistical Support Battalion), Indianapolis, Ind., relays hand signals during maintenance on a truck winch system June 3 at the U.S. Virgin Islands National Guard Regional Training Institute, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Garrett and several other Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 411th Regiment (LSB) worked with members of the 652nd Engineer Platoon to help fix and conduct preventative maintenance on a winch belonging to the 652nd of the U.S. Virgin Islands National Guard. The Indiana reservists and Virgin Islands National Guard Soldiers will be working together during Operation Forward Guardian II, a joint hurricane relief mission involving components of the Army Reserve, National Guard, Air Force and Air National Guard which begins today.
